The Shabbat experience you cannot miss! Join us on Friday, August 10 for a special summer edition of "Return Again" followed by a community Shabbat dinner! The lively, soulful service features seasoned musicians and a spiritual, personal excursion into prayer and song. Join as we dance, sing, and discover the deep shabbat within us all. Join us at 5:30pm for a special reception in the Biran Beit Midrash welcoming our newest member of the Adas Clery Team, Rabbi Sarah Krinsky.

Special Note About This Shabbat:
You probably have now heard that on the year anniversary of the hate-filled marches that overtook Charlotteville last year, some of the same organizers have decided to bring their dark messages of division to Washington D.C. They have obtained a permit to occupy Lafayette Square on August 12th. As of now, we believe (confirmed by experts) that avoiding the scene altogether is the prudent thing to do that afternoon. Here at Adas Israel, we will also have enhanced security on-site throughout the weekend.

Still, as a religious community obligated to foster and promote the inherent holiness in all God’s diverse human creations--both within and outside of our physical walls—we want to offer our community and partners an alternative space, a sacred vessel, with which we can all house our love, solidarity, and anxiety over the course of the weekend.

This week’s Return Again service will be a space to gather as the community we see ourselves to be—powerfully diverse—all of us, together. We’ll sing, pray, hear inspiring words of hope and resilience, and then break bread together.
