Youth@AI is a fun, friendly, energetic program that allows young people to connect, celebrate their Jewish spirit. We have youth groups and activities for four different age ranges, from K-2 to high school. We hope to see you all at these upcoming, fun events! Bring all your friends – you won’t want to miss out! 

Shabbat Youth Services @ Adas  
 
L’Dor VaDor Service & Dinner
Shabbat for Families with Young Children and L’Dor vaDor for K-2nd Grade
Family Kabbalat Shabbat Services led by Rabbi Aaron Alexander and Cantor Arianne Brown, at 5:30, with singing from our K-2 graders. followed by a delicious dinner at 6:15.  It all starts at 5:00 with a Happy Half Hour!  Wine, water and cheese to tide you over.  Time for the adults to shmooze and a built in playdate for the children.  Come for some or all of this special evening.

Meets weekly on Saturday mornings at 11am
Led by Menuhah Peters, Tot Shabbat has captivated our youngest Adas members and their parents for years.

Netivot is Hebrew for pathways. Our children are ready to begin building their leadership skills in a prayer service.

For 4th – 6th graders
Junior Congregation meets 2-3 times a month on Saturday mornings at 11am. 
On alternating weeks with Junior Congregation, we will offer Parsha Shuir – a Torah service, followed by facilitated study of the weekly Torah portion.

Madrichim Application 2016-2017

A vital component to our Religious school experience is the Madrichim Program.  In addition to  the option of classroom assistance in the Estelle & Melvin Gelman Religious School on Sunday mornings, we also have the following exciting opportunities:

  • Hebrew Tutoring, with the options of Sunday mornings or Tuesday or Wednesday afternoons during Religious School hours
  • Torah Club assistance on Tuesday evenings from 6:30pm-7:45pm
  • Youth@AI counselors to help run Machar (grades K-5) and Kadima (grades 6-8) programs on occasional Saturday evenings and/or Sunday afternoons after Religious School
  • Junior Congregation and other Saturday morning Shabbat programs; assisting youth service leaders in davening, leyning, and facilitiation, as well as serving as mentors for new participants

6th-12th grade

Come join us for us for an evening of dancing and desserts at USY Formal at Beth Israel in Owings Mills, MD, followed by a lock-in at Adas Israel!

The cost of this registration includes transportation to and from USY Formal, your ticket to USY Formal, and all the food and programming costs for the lock-in here at Adas.

Mock Legal Appeal by Miriam the Prophet! Friday, February 10th, 2017
We will revisit the biblical legal matter in which Miriam was accused of lashon hara against Moses and his wife. A special panel of judges has been convened to hear her appeal.

Panel of judges:

  • The Honorable David S. Tatel- United States Court of Appeals for D.C.
  • The Honorable Beryl A. Howell- Chief Judge of The United States District Court for D.C.
  • The Honorable Judith Bartnoff- Superior Court of the District of Columbia
  • Dr. Amy Kalmanofsky- Jewish Theological Seminary, Mozelle Saltz Sisterhood Shabbat Scholar

Attorneys: Both sides will be represented by the 11th and 12th graders from Adas Israel’s Ma’alot program!

Join us for an extraordinary Adas Family Israel experience June 22, 2017 – July 2, 2017! Travel with Rabbi Holtzblatt, Rabbi Rosenbaum, and fellow Adas Israel families as we build new relationships with each other and explore the richness and beauty of Israel.   

The experience is designed with families in mind and will focus on building community in our unique Adas way. We will walk in the footsteps of our ancestors in Jerusalem, scale the heights of Masada, and enjoy Tel Aviv’s beach culture. From a jeep ride in the Galilee to a desert camel ride in the Negev, we’ll have the opportunity to discover firsthand the unique culture and history of this Holy Land.

Young Judaea Summer Programs
Year Course & Discovery Israel

Year Course is a 9-month gap year program in Israel where students get the chance to earn up to 30 college credits, enhance their language skills, gain meaningful and unique volunteer opportunities and deepen their curiosity of where and how they want to engage in the world around them. The students that go on Year Course gain a great sense of independence and mature in ways that enable them to truly thrive in college, both socially and academically.

Young Judaea's Discovery Israel Trip spends 4-weeks traveling through Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, Eilat, the Golan Heights and the Dead Sea discovering Israel’s history, land, diverse and complex communities, and famous start-up nation!

Presidents Day Weekend – February 12-14, 2016

Join other Jewish 6th, 7th & 8th graders from Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina and Washington DC for a weekend of exciting activities (including a snow tubing trip) & a fun Shabbat experience!
