Through the careful study of Jewish narratives about Israel, and the unpacking of the complex meanings of peace in Jewish tradition, Rabbi Steinlauf invites you to encounter the ideas and values that animate different attitudes toward the conflict and how these values shape their own political understandings. Brought to you by the Israel Engagement Committee at Adas Israel.

The Spiritual Child with Dr. Lisa Miller
November 1 @ 7:30pm, Biran Beit Midrash
Presented by the Jewish Mindfulness Center of Washington (JMCW)
Come join us for a special evening presented by the JMCW and MakomDC with Dr. Lisa Miller, Director of the Clinical Psychology Program at Columbia University and Founder of the Spirituality Mind Body Institute. Dr Miller will be discussing her new book, The Spiritual Child, which blends cutting-edge research with broad anecdotal evidence to illustrate just how invaluable spirituality is to a child’s mental and physical health.

Makom in the Home
Adas has a long tradition of osmall group learning outside of the walls of the synagogue. Makom in the Home seeks to continue the Adas tradition of learning Torah in the inner walls of congregants’ homes. We will seek to add new groups to the already thriving chavurot, expanding the reach of the conversations that begin in the Biran Beit Midrash @Adas. Contact Marcy Spiro to get connected with a learning group.

Intro to Judaism
with Adas Clergy

In order to make these engaging and relevant learning options open to as many people as possible, we have decided to offer almost all of the programming at no charge, thanks to the generosity of many Adas members. At the same time, we still cannot possibly expect to cover all the costs associated with producing these important programs without additional support from you. When you register for an event, you will be presented with the option to offer a donation. Thanks in advance for your support.
